With the assets of the Libertarian Party still in the hands of an unelected gang of liars, conspiracy theorists and conmen, some of us who have been active in promoting Libertarian values via the electoral process in the past and don't intend seeing that effort going to waste are now interested in starting a new Libertian political party so that we can move forwards and do some actual politics. At the moment, the initiative is just at the level of finding out how many people would be interested in supporting such a venture. Gavin Webb - former Communications Director and the only councillor the Libertarian Party ever had - has set up a website where people can register their interest:

If you understand that libertarians have to be involved with the political process in order for this country to progress in the right direction, please register your interest - you won't be committing yourself to anything.

  2. Goodness knows we need a party that is in tune with, dare I say it, 'ordinary' people, ordinary in the best sense of the word. We know what the Tories stand for, we don't know what Labour stands for anymore, and as for the Lib Dems, I don't even think they know what they stand for!

  3. Please can anyone wishing to express their interest in seeing a new libertarian political organisation visit http://www.gavinwebb.com/libertarians.

Unfortunately, I have had to change the url due to a complaint my hosting provider received from the Libertarian Party UK over copyright violations, relating to the use of libertarianparty.org.uk - a domain I have own for over two years. This complaint led to my hosting account temporarily being suspended.

A more comprehensive article about this affair is at the above address.

  5. Oh, I'd love to see some old school libertarian values in the british political system. As in libertarian socialism. Not this new tee-bagger bullshit that has been imported from the US...
